Stoke-on-Trent/Figureworld West Model Show

This was my own model clubs show (and the first for me since joining last year) and so I was working the show – this meant I was fairly busy with it, and didn’t have time to write about it until now. I won’t be writing much as I’d be clearly showing bias.

Stoke-on-Trent model show was held at a local school in Stoke-on-Trent. The venue was split across 3 main areas. The school hall had the majority of traders and model clubs. The atrium and corridor housed some of the other traders and clubs, and then the cafeteria which was used to house Figure World West. As per usual for model shows, it was held on a Sunday.

The show itself was pretty diverse. We had live airbrushing demos throughout the day, a tombola (with proceeds going to charity), and we also had the RW388 Restoration Charity (who work with what is now Supermarine Aviation) who brought along some live Spitfire parts and talked about their work restoring the Spitfire at the local museum. As previously mentioned we featured Figureworld this year for the first time for our show (and hopefully something that will continue) alongside what one may usually expect from a model show.

Below you’ll find some pictures of the show, and a slideshow for the winners of the competition.
